Weekday Office Hours: 9:00-4:30 pm. Other times by appointment.
The Parish Pastoral Committee serves as an
advisory and consultative body for the Pastor.
Members meet with the Pastor on an on-going basis and are
appointed by the Pastor. As required by Canon Law, St. Pancras has
a Finance Committee composed of lay people.
The members of the Committee meet quarterly to review the
management of the parishs financial portfolio.
They also assist in the preparation of the annual parish
budget and the year-end financial statement.
Members of the Finance Committee are appointed by the
Pastor. New York State law requires that each Roman Catholic parish have two lay trustees. These two parishioners, together with the Pastor, the Bishop, and the Vicar-General of the Diocese, serve for legal purposes as the Board of Trustees for the parish. The Trustees are required to execute legal documents which the parish files with the Diocese. The Trustees are appointed by the Pastor. Mass. Since they truly believe in God's presence in the Word, the
lectors deem it valuable to spend time and effort to more fully
appreciate and understand the text, and thereby more fully
proclaim the Scriptures. The altar servers offer a very important ministry to our parish by assisting the priest during the celebration of liturgies, weddings, and funeral Masses. All young men and women, from the fourth grade through high school, are invited to become altar servers. Ministers
of Hospitality / Ushers The Ministers of Welcome / Ushers seek to make the members of the congregation feel welcome in our church at the Masses on Sundays and Holy Days and at special services. Their duties include greeting the people at the doors before and after the mass; distributing the bulletin and other publications when available; taking the collection; organizing the Offertory procession; and providing assistance as needed to members of the congregation, such as helping people to and from their seats. The Liturgy Committee meets on a regular basis to discuss and implement ideas for the church year. This committee is a small representative group of the larger community - the parish family. The function of this group is to help enhance the meaning of liturgical events throughout the year. Through discussion of prayers, reading and ideas the committee creates the themes, symbols, and church environment for the Church seasons. The goal for this committee is to help foster a greater parish awareness of our God and each other as members of the parish family. The Adult Choirs provide music for the liturgical celebrations throughout the year. The choirs are open to all adults who wish to share their time and vocal talents in praising God through song.
