THANK YOU

Your generosity to the FOOD PANTRY is appreciated. Please continue your support for those less fortunate than ourselves.

Come Holy Spirit ...

To build your life on Christ, to accept the Word with joy and put its teachings into practice: this, young people of the Third Millennium, should be your program! There is an urgent need for the emergence of a new generation of apostles anchored firmly in the Word of Christ, capable of responding to the challenges of our times and prepared to spread the Gospel far and wide. It is this that the Lord asks of you, it is to this that the Church invites you, and it is this that the world _ even though it may not be aware of it _ expects of you! (Pope Benedict XVI)

LABORERS FOR THE HARVEST

The Gospel tells the story of the sending out of the seventy-two, some of the first disciples in the burgeoning church. They must have been full of idealism and excitement as they went from town to town healing the sick and expelling demons. On the Fourth of July, we remember those who founded our country and can also imagine their excitement and idealism as they worked in this newly established country. Our Church, now over two thousand years old, is still in need of men filled with idealism and excitement who are willing to answer the call to the ordained priesthood. Today is a day to pray for vocations to the priesthood; as the Lord tells his disciples, “[A]sk the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest” (Luke 10:2).

First Holy Communion - THANK YOU

Last weekend we celebrated two beautiful First Holy Communion Masses at our Church.  Parish events re-quire a lot of co-operation among many groups and we would like to say a big THANK YOU to so many who helped assure the success of our Masses:

  • St. Anne’s Cleaning Crew - for keeping our Church so sparkling clean especially for our special Sacramental days.

  • Ushers - for attending practices and cheerfully greeting and seating our families and guests, and helping to cleanup.

  • Altar Servers - for volunteering their services to be part of our Masses and leading our Procession.

  • Choir and Organist - for the beautiful music and sing-ing which enhanced the reverence of our liturgy.

  • Teachers - Ms. Arcuri, Mrs. Di Giovani, Ms. Falcone and Ms. Madonna for their many hours of preparation time with our children.

and last but certainly not least

  • Parents - for attending meetings, helping the children prepare, especially with homework assignments and Mass attendance; and, most importantly, for respect-fully celebrating our First Communion Masses.

Please continue to pray with your children and celebrate Sunday Mass and Communion with them.

Sincerely,

Saint Pancras Parish Staff
