St. Pancras School

A Place To Grow

In Heart - In Mind – In Soul

 Dear Parishioners,

Welcome to the 2010-11 school year!  Our school’s vision, mission and values assert our commitment to work collaboratively for every student’s spiritual and academic success.  We continue the rich 102 year legacy of excellence in Catholic education started by our dedicated Dominican sisters.  Upon graduation our youngsters will have participated in experiences that challenge and prepare them for a bright future of achievement, spiritual development and Christian service. Our wonderful school building is a beacon for the parish community and is in constant use day and night throughout the year. Beneficiaries include our parish school children, the School of Religion, CYO Sports, Boy and Girl Scouts and adult prayer groups and clubs.

Forming children into active members of the community of faith is a central tenet of our mission. We flourish in a faith based educational environment from Nursery through grade eight.  We place our Catholic traditions and values at the center of our daily experience with opportunities for prayer and regular participation in liturgy at weekday and Sunday Mass.  We unite with the parish to profess our common faith and reinforce Catholic identity through faith formation.  Our catholicity influences every educational activity and all of our policies, procedures and relationships as we evangelize and profess a common faith in Jesus.

We promote academic achievement and develop the spiritual, intellectual, emotional and physical growth of our children in partnership with parents.  We recognize and assist parents as the primary teachers of their children in developing Christian love and community and together we bear witness to the Gospel.  We teach a challenging academic grade appropriate curriculum that meets and in many cases exceeds NYS curriculum requirements.  Our Middle States accredited school executes best practices that include standards based instruction and utilizes materials, technology and equipment that promote effective learning for all.  We celebrate success and match students needs with opportunities for remediation, enrichment and extended experiences in and out of the classroom.  Assessment is ongoing and planning ensures the vitality of a program that adjusts to advances in curriculum and technology.

A positive faith filled climate is fostered with opportunities to encourage and support our youngsters to become our hope for the future and models of Christian community and service.  Using strategic planning for continuous progress, we will continue to involve all members of the parish family as we strive for a strong future together.  Catholic education is alive and well in Glendale.

With you in prayer for our blessed St. Pancras Parish, I am

                                                                                                Sincerely In Christ,

                                                                                                Philip J. Ciani
